FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 11, 2017) – Calling for unity and action among all Kentuckians to defend the common values we hold dear despite political affiliation, the Kentucky Democratic Party will host a strategy tour stop before kicking off Resistance Summer events in Richmond, on Wednesday, July 12 at 6 p.m. at the Central Bank Community Room.

The KDP welcomes all Kentuckians to have constructive conversations about the policies working against us and our working families. It’s a chance to reach out to fellow residents of the Commonwealth who feel disenfranchised by the political process and ask them to join us in resisting the very policies crippling the many and benefiting the few.

What :    Resistance Summer Strategy tour

Where :  The Central Bank Community Room located at 350 W. Main St. in Richmond

When:     6-9 p.m., Wednesday, July 12

Resistance Summer goals

  • Connect with other passionate leaders and volunteers via phone banks to get involved in the resistance;

  • Engage with our communities via door knocking to listen to their concerns and issues;

  • Register voters and organize on campuses.

At a time when reforms like a grocery tax would hurt the most vulnerable in our state who live on fixed incomes, when laws crafted in Washington D.C. put our access to affordable health care in jeopardy and when the federal government overreaches in regards to our voting privacy rights, we must stand together.

Leading up to the call to action for Resistance Summer, starting July 15 in locations like Hopkinsville, Louisville, Lexington, Morehead and Covington, there will be events to gather Kentuckians to talk about issues important and specific to them.
