Bevin Campaign: Early Childhood Education Is A "Non-Issue," "Wasn't Even On Our Radar"

FRANKFORT, KY -- During tonight's Lt. Governor's Debate on KET, Jenean Hampton made it clear exactly how little the Bevin Campaign cares about early childhood education: first doubling down on her attacks against Head Start, and then stating that early childhood education is a "non-issue" for her and Matt Bevin and that it "wasn't even on our radar."
Previously, Bevin stated that early childhood education programs "serve no purpose," and Hampton said that Head Start is for "indoctrination."
From David Bergstein of the Kentucky Democratic Party: "After attacking and disparaging early learning programs for months, tonight the Bevin campaign finally confirmed that they simply don't care about early childhood education. That's in clear contrast to Jack Conway and Sannie Overly who believe more Kentucky families should have access to these vital programs. It's all just more proof that Kentuckians cannot trust an 'East Coast Con Man' like Bevin to serve as our governor."
